About Muriel Gardner - Trainer
As
long as I can remember, dogs have always been a very big part of my
life. It began with the family Beagle at age three, and grew into a
life long passion. I began saving stray dogs as soon
as I was old enough to find them, and with the support of my family,
began finding them homes one dog at a time. Around age 9, I began to
spend my weekends at a local dog shelter helping Mrs. Green feed and
walk the dogs. I did this until I graduated high
school and left New York for Arizona to attend the U of A. During
the course of my studies I continued to train and board
dogs on the side. After completing my degree in Wildlife Biology I
began to work in the field. After starting a family, I took
maternity leave to raise my kids. During this time I began to read
everything I could find relating to dog behavior and training. I
began to volunteer with FAIR a local rescue organization, all the
while I continued to train and board dogs. It was during this time
that I began to consider dog training as a full time career. In a
quest for the most up to date, well researched training methods, I
chose to Attend Animal Behavior College, an industry respected
school. The program was both rigorous and extensive. I continue to
pursue continuing education in the field through nationally
recognized Clicker Training seminars every year.
